竹本幸夫

Yukio Takemoto is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Toyokawa in Aichi Prefecture. Born in 1954, he graduated from Ritsumeikan University and spent his early career working for the Toyokawa City government, eventually serving as Deputy Mayor. He was first elected as Mayor in 2019 and secured re-election in 2023. During his tenure, he has focused on local administration and social policy, including the implementation of a partnership oath system for same-sex couples in 2022. He has also navigated challenges such as managing municipal responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
