Yuji Kashiwakura is a Japanese politician and medical doctor currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. After graduating from Okayama University Medical School and completing his doctoral studies at Juntendo University, he worked as a researcher at Johns Hopkins University and held academic positions at Okayama University and Keio University. Kashiwakura first entered national politics in 2012 and has since represented various political affiliations, including the Your Party and the Democratic Party of Japan. He returned to the Diet in 2026 following the 51st general election. His policy positions have included support for selective separate surnames for married couples.
