Yves-François Blanchet is a Canadian politician who has served as the leader of the Bloc Québécois since 2019 and as the Member of Parliament for Beloeil—Chambly. Born in Drummondville, Quebec, he holds a degree in history and anthropology from the Université de Montréal. Before entering federal politics, Blanchet worked as an artist manager and served as the president of ADISQ. He previously held provincial office as a member of the National Assembly of Quebec from 2008 to 2014, during which time he served as Quebec's Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment, Wildlife and Parks. Under his leadership, the Bloc Québécois has maintained its position as a significant force in the House of Commons, advocating for Quebec's interests within the Canadian federation.
