Yvonne Boyer is a Canadian lawyer and politician who has served as a member of the Senate of Canada representing Ontario since 2018. A member of the Métis Nation, she is the first Indigenous person appointed to the Senate from Ontario. Before her appointment, she worked as a nurse for two decades and later as a law professor at the University of Ottawa, specializing in health law and ethics. Throughout her career, she has been a vocal advocate for Indigenous health equity and has championed legislative efforts to criminalize forced or coerced sterilization in Canada.
