Adrienne Benavidez is an American politician serving as a member of the Colorado Senate for District 21. Before her appointment to the Senate, she served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023, where she was a prominent advocate for Latino issues and environmental reform. During her tenure in the House, she successfully sponsored legislation to repeal the death penalty in Colorado, replace Columbus Day with Frances Xavier Cabrini Day, and prohibit the use of Native American mascots in public schools. Prior to her legislative career, she worked as an attorney and held executive roles in the Denver Department of General Services and the Colorado Division of Finance and Procurement.
