須藤昭男

Akio Suto is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Midori City in Gunma Prefecture. Born in 1960, he graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University and later earned a Master of Public Management from Waseda University. Before his election as mayor in 2018, Suto served as a member of the Gunma Prefectural Assembly for five terms, including a tenure as the 88th Chairman of the Assembly. He began his career as a secretary to a member of the House of Representatives. Suto has been re-elected as mayor multiple times, including uncontested victories in 2022 and 2026.
