小川晶

Akira Ogawa is a Japanese politician and lawyer who currently serves as the Mayor of Maebashi. Born in 1982, she graduated from Chuo University and worked as a lawyer specializing in supporting victims of domestic violence before entering politics. She served four terms as a member of the Gunma Prefectural Assembly starting in 2011. In 2024, she was elected as the first female and youngest post-war mayor of Maebashi. Following a 2025 controversy regarding her use of public facilities, she resigned and successfully won re-election in a 2026 by-election.
