Al Abdelaziz is an American politician serving as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly for the 35th Legislative District since January 2025. He was selected to fill a vacancy following the resignation of Benjie Wimberly, becoming the first Palestinian American to serve in the chamber. Prior to his election to the state legislature, Abdelaziz served on the Paterson City Council, where he notably sponsored a resolution to rename a section of Main Street as Palestine Way in 2022. In the Assembly, he serves on the Education, Higher Education, and Housing committees.
