Alan Chambers

Alan Chambers is a Northern Irish unionist politician and shopkeeper who has served as a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for North Down since 2016. A member of the Ulster Unionist Party, he previously served as the acting Speaker of the Assembly from 2022 to 2024. Before his election to the Assembly, Chambers had a long career in local government, serving as a councillor for North Down and later for Ards and North Down, including a term as Mayor of North Down in 2000. As a prominent health spokesperson for his party, he has been a vocal advocate for the restoration of the Northern Ireland Executive to address critical issues in cancer services and healthcare infrastructure.
