Ali Ahmeti is a North Macedonian politician of Albanian descent and the founder and leader of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI). Born in 1959, he was a prominent figure in the 2001 insurgency as the political leader of the National Liberation Army. Following the Ohrid Agreement, he transitioned into mainstream politics, establishing the DUI in 2002. He has served as a long-standing member of the Assembly of North Macedonia and has been a key coalition partner in various governments since 2008.
