Talat Xhaferi

Talat Xhaferi is a North Macedonian politician who has served as a member of the Assembly of North Macedonia since 2002. An ethnic Albanian, he previously served as the Prime Minister of North Macedonia from January to June 2024, leading a technical government, and as the President of the Assembly from 2017 to 2024. Earlier in his career, he was the Minister of Defense from 2013 to 2014. Before entering politics, Xhaferi was a career military officer in the Yugoslav People's Army and later the Army of the Republic of Macedonia, eventually joining the National Liberation Army during the 2001 insurgency.
