Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari

Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari is a Qatari politician who has served as the Minister of Finance since October 2021. Prior to this appointment, he held the position of Minister of Commerce and Industry from 2018 to 2021 and served as acting Minister of Finance earlier in 2021. Before entering government, Al Kuwari had a distinguished career in the banking sector, notably serving as the CEO of Qatar National Bank (QNB) Group. He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Science from Eastern Washington University and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from Seattle Pacific University. In his current role, he has focused on economic development, including initiatives related to green bonds and the establishment of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Qatar.
