Alyssa Black is an American politician serving as a member of the Vermont House of Representatives for the Chittenden-24 district. First elected in November 2020, she assumed office in January 2021. Outside of her legislative duties, she works as a healthcare administrator in Williston, Vermont. Following the suicide of her son in 2018, Black became a prominent advocate for firearm safety legislation. Her efforts culminated in the 2023 passage of Act 45, which established a 72-hour waiting period for firearm purchases and expanded extreme risk protection orders in Vermont.
