Dr. Amar Singh is an Indian politician, physician, and former civil servant currently serving as a Member of Parliament for the Fatehgarh Sahib constituency. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished career as an IAS officer and served as the chairman and managing director of the Food Corporation of India. He is notably recognized for his instrumental role in the conceptualization and implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). As a parliamentarian, he has been an active voice on agrarian issues and has represented India in international diplomatic initiatives regarding counter-terrorism efforts.
