Andrés Fontecilla is a Canadian politician serving as a member of the National Assembly of Quebec for the electoral district of Laurier-Dorion. Born in Chile in 1967, he emigrated to Canada in 1981 to escape the Pinochet regime. An anthropologist by training, he was a key figure in the Union des forces progressistes before it merged into Québec solidaire, where he served as co-spokesperson from 2013 to 2017. Since his election in 2018, he has focused on housing, immigration, and anti-racism initiatives.
