Joël Arseneau

Joël Arseneau is a Canadian politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly of Quebec for the electoral district of Îles-de-la-Madeleine. First elected in the 2018 provincial election, he currently acts as the parliamentary leader of the Parti Québécois and serves as the party's spokesperson on various portfolios, including Health, Transport, and International Relations. Before his provincial career, Arseneau served as the mayor of Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine from 2005 to 2013. Although he faced legal controversy regarding municipal expense claims, he was acquitted of fraud charges and has continued his political career at the provincial level.
