Tracy Schmidt is a Canadian politician currently serving as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for the district of Rossmere. Elected in the 2023 Manitoba general election, she also holds the position of Minister of Environment and Climate Change. Before entering provincial politics, Schmidt worked as a labour relations officer for the Winnipeg Association of Public Services Officers and as a lawyer. Her background also includes experience as a letter carrier and mail clerk, during which time she was an active member of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. She holds degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice from the University of Winnipeg and a law degree from the University of Manitoba.
