Andreas Rother is a German politician and the Lord Mayor of Passau. Born in 1974 in Passau, he initially studied mathematics in Regensburg before transitioning to a career in optometry, where he became a master optician and technical business administrator. He has operated his own acoustics and eyewear business since 2010. Rother has been a member of the Passau City Council since 2008 and served as the city's second mayor starting in 2020. In March 2026, he was elected as the Lord Mayor of Passau, representing the Social Democratic Party.
