Before entering politics, he worked as an anesthesiologist at Johns Hopkins University and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. A member of the House Freedom Caucus, Harris served in the Maryland Senate from 1998 to 2010. He is known for his conservative political positions, including a strong pro-life stance and support for right-wing populist policies.
