Anne Meiman Hughes is an American politician serving as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing the 135th district since 2019. A social worker by profession, she was first elected in 2018, becoming the first Democrat to win the district since 1970. Hughes co-chairs the House Progressive Democratic Caucus and has been a vocal advocate for tax reform, criminal justice initiatives, paid family medical leave, and climate change investments. She continues to serve in the state legislature following multiple re-elections.
