Aoi Furukawa

Aoi Furukawa is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives for the Team Mirai party. Born in Saga Prefecture, she is the daughter of former Saga Governor Yasushi Furukawa. She holds degrees from the University of Tokyo and previously worked as a bureaucrat at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, where she focused on nursing care insurance reform and medical venture support. After earning a master's degree in information management from the University of California, Berkeley, she worked as an engineer in Silicon Valley. Following an unsuccessful bid for the House of Councillors in 2025, she was elected to the House of Representatives in 2026 and currently serves as the Policy Research Council Chair for Team Mirai.
