Asha Maurya is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Mahmoodabad constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Representing the Bharatiya Janata Party, she made history as the first woman to be elected to this seat. Maurya secured her victory in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election by defeating the six-time incumbent MLA Nagendra Singh Verma by a margin of 5,689 votes, following a narrow defeat against the same opponent in the 2017 election.
