Balbir Singh Seechewal is an Indian environmentalist, religious figure, and politician currently serving as a member of the Rajya Sabha representing Punjab. Known as 'Eco Baba,' he gained national and international recognition for his grassroots campaigns to clean and restore the Kali Bein and Buddha Nullah rivers in Punjab. He is a Nirmala Sikh and the head of the Nirmal Kutiya in Sichewali, where he has pioneered the 'Seechewal Model' of sustainable water management and rural sanitation. In 2017, he was awarded the Padma Shri for his significant contributions to environmental conservation.
