Swati Maliwal

Swati Maliwal is an Indian politician and social activist currently serving as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha representing Delhi. Before entering national politics, she gained prominence as the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) from 2015 to 2024, where she led significant campaigns against gender-based violence, child trafficking, and acid attacks. A former member of the Aam Aadmi Party, she transitioned to the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2026. Throughout her career, she has been a vocal advocate for stringent legal reforms regarding crimes against women and children, frequently utilizing public hunger strikes and grassroots activism to demand greater police accountability and legislative action.
