A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he previously served as the 17th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 2021 to 2023. Before his tenure as Chief Minister, he held several ministerial portfolios in the state government, including Home Affairs, Law, and Water Resources. Bommai began his political career with the Janata Dal and is recognized for his contributions to irrigation infrastructure and state development projects.
