Betty Nippi-Albright

Betty Nippi-Albright is a Canadian politician serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan for the electoral district of Saskatoon Centre. A member of the Kinistin First Nation and of Saulteaux and Cree ancestry, she is a residential school survivor and has been a prominent advocate for Indigenous communities, particularly regarding their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. First elected in 2020 as a member of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party, she transitioned to sitting as an independent in May 2026 following disagreements with party leadership. She continues to serve as a critic for First Nations and Métis Relations, Truth and Reconciliation, and Innovation.
