Bhikhu Parekh is a British political theorist, academic, and life peer who serves as a Labour Party member of the House of Lords. Born in India, he had a distinguished academic career, serving as Professor of Political Theory at the University of Hull and Professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Westminster. He is widely recognized for his work on multiculturalism, notably chairing the Commission on the Future of Multi-Ethnic Britain. A Fellow of the British Academy, he has authored numerous influential works on political philosophy, Gandhi, and identity politics.
