Bill Hitchens

Bill Hitchens is an American politician and retired law enforcement officer serving as a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives for the 161st District since 2012. A Vietnam veteran, he served in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Coast Guard Reserve, and spent nearly three decades as a trooper with the Georgia State Patrol. Prior to his legislative career, Hitchens served as the Director of the Georgia Office of Homeland Security from 2003 to 2005 under Governor Sonny Perdue. He holds a degree in criminal justice and political science from Georgia Southern University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
