Bogdan Borusewicz is a Polish politician and historian who currently serves as a member of the Senate of Poland. A prominent figure in the democratic opposition during the Communist era, he was a key organizer of the 1980 Gdańsk Shipyard strike and a founding member of the Solidarity trade union. He previously served as the Marshal of the Senate from 2005 to 2015 and briefly acted as the President of Poland in 2010. Throughout his career, he has been a steadfast advocate for democratic reforms and human rights.
