Bongani Michael Mkongi is a South African politician currently serving as a Member of the National Assembly for the Umkhonto weSizwe Party. A long-time activist and former member of the African National Congress, he previously served as the Deputy Minister of Police from 2017 to 2019. Throughout his career, Mkongi has been involved in student politics and held various leadership roles within the ANC Youth League. Known for his outspoken and sometimes controversial views on policing and immigration, he transitioned to the MK Party in 2024 before returning to Parliament in 2025.
