Brett Barker

Brett Barker is an American politician serving as a Republican member of the Iowa House of Representatives for the 51st district since 2025. Born in Niskayuna, New York, he earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa. Before his election to the state legislature, Barker worked as a pharmacist and vice president of operations at NuCara Pharmacy, and served as the Mayor of Nevada, Iowa, as well as the Chair of the Story County Republicans. In the Iowa House, he serves as vice chair of the Health and Human Services Committee and holds seats on the Commerce, Economic Growth & Technology, and Natural Resources Committees.
