Bronis Ropė is a Lithuanian politician currently serving as a Member of the European Parliament, a position he has held since 2014. A member of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union, he also serves as the party's first vice chairman. Prior to his tenure in the European Parliament, he had a long career in local government, serving as the mayor of Ignalina from 1995 to 2014. He holds a degree from the Kaunas University of Technology, where he was active in student trade union leadership during the late 1970s.
