Bruno Bauwens

Bruno Bauwens is a Belgian politician representing the Marxist Workers' Party of Belgium (PVDA-PTB). Born in Turnhout in 1970, he trained as a Dutch-English-Spanish translator and worked as a teacher, social worker, and educator before entering politics. He became active in social movements during the 1996 teachers' strike and later served as a municipal councilor in the City of Brussels starting in 2018. In February 2022, he entered the Brussels-Capital Parliament, where his legislative work focuses on energy, environment, and urban cleanliness, and he was subsequently re-elected in 2024 while also taking up a mandate in the Parliament of the French Community.
