Fouad Ahidar is a Belgian politician currently serving as a member of the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region and as the leader of his own political party, Team Fouad Ahidar. He began his political career in the early 2000s, working for the Flemish Ministry of Culture and Youth before being elected to the Brussels Parliament in 2004 as a member of the Socialistische Partij Anders (SP.A). After being expelled from the party, renamed Vooruit, in 2022 due to his opposition to animal slaughter without stunning, he founded Team Fouad Ahidar in 2024. His political platform emphasizes issues relevant to the Islamic community, including the defense of ritual slaughter, alongside broader concerns such as housing and purchasing power.
