Catherine Conconne

Catherine Conconne is a French politician who has served as a Senator for Martinique since 2017, becoming the first woman to hold this position in the island's history. She was re-elected in 2023 and subsequently elected as a Secretary of the Senate. Previously, she served as a councillor at the Assembly of Martinique and as a deputy mayor of Fort-de-France. Formerly a member of the Martinican Progressive Party, she founded her own political movement, La Martinique Ensemble, in 2021. Her policy work has included efforts to address medical deserts in overseas territories.
