Chantal Petitclerc is a Canadian politician and decorated Paralympic athlete who has served as a member of the Senate of Canada since 2016. Before entering politics, she achieved international acclaim as a wheelchair racer, winning 21 Paralympic medals, including 14 gold, and holding multiple world records. She has also served as a coach and mentor for the British Paralympic team and as Chef de Mission for the Canadian team at the Commonwealth and Paralympic Games. In the Senate, she sits as an independent and focuses on health policy and the rights of persons with disabilities.
