Chantel Jackson

Chantel S. Jackson is an American politician and social worker currently serving as a member of the New York State Assembly for the 79th district. Born in New York City, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the City College of New York and a Master of Social Work from Adelphi University. Before her election in 2020, Jackson worked as a professor at the College of New Rochelle and as a social worker at the Academy for Careers in Television & Film. She assumed office on January 1, 2021, after winning the Democratic primary and the subsequent general election.
