A member of the Kuomintang, he previously represented Taipei City Constituency 3 in the Legislative Yuan from 2016 to 2022. Before entering politics, Chiang practiced corporate and venture capital law in Silicon Valley and Taiwan. His political platform emphasizes modernization, urban reform, and economic development, and he is noted for being the youngest mayor in the history of Taipei.
