針谷力

Chikara Hariya is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Koga City in Ibaraki Prefecture. Born in 1961, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Dokkyo University. Before his mayoral career, he served as a member of the Koga City Council, where he eventually held the position of the 4th City Council Chairman. He was first elected mayor in 2016 and has since secured re-election, most recently winning his third term in 2024. In addition to his political career, he has worked as a representative director for a Tokyo Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance agency.
