Chris Pappas is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for New Hampshire's 1st congressional district since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served on the New Hampshire Executive Council from 2013 to 2019 and in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Pappas is the first openly gay man to represent New Hampshire in Congress and is known for his bipartisan approach to legislation. In April 2025, he announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat representing New Hampshire. Outside of his political career, he is a co-owner of the family-founded Puritan Backroom restaurant in Manchester.
