Clare Gerada is a British-Maltese general practitioner and life peer who serves as a member of the House of Lords. A prominent figure in medical politics, she previously served as the president and chairwoman of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Throughout her career, she has focused on mental health, substance misuse, and gambling-related harms, establishing the Practitioner Health Programme and the NHS Primary Care Gambling Service. Appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2020 for her services to general practice, she was nominated as a crossbench peer in 2025.
