Claus Kaminsky

Claus Kaminsky is a German politician and the long-serving Mayor of Hanau. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) since 1981, he has held the office of Mayor since 1995 and has served as the Lord Mayor (Oberbürgermeister) of Hanau since 2003. Throughout his tenure, he has been recognized as the longest-serving mayor in the state of Hesse. Kaminsky has also held various leadership roles in regional financial and municipal organizations, including the Sparkasse Hanau. He announced in 2025 that he would not seek re-election and plans to retire in October 2026.
