Clive Betts

Clive Betts is a veteran British Labour politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Sheffield South East since 2010, having previously represented Sheffield Attercliffe from 1992. An economist by training, he held significant roles in local government, including serving as the leader of Sheffield City Council from 1987 to 1992. Throughout his parliamentary career, he has been a prominent figure in housing and local government policy, notably chairing the Communities and Local Government Committee for many years. Betts, who came out as gay in 2003, is recognized for his long-standing service and his involvement in various all-party parliamentary groups focused on issues such as housing, football, and international relations.
