Colette Capdevielle is a French lawyer and politician currently serving as a Member of the National Assembly for the 5th constituency of Pyrénées-Atlantiques. First elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2024 under the New Popular Front coalition, she has been a prominent advocate for family law reform, including the recognition of same-sex parenting rights. Throughout her career, she has served as a regional councillor in Aquitaine and a municipal councillor in Bayonne. A member of the Socialist Party, she is recognized for her work on legal reform, human rights, and her commitment to the Basque region, for which she was appointed a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 2019.
