A native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, he practiced law alongside his father before entering the state legislature. In the Senate, he serves as the vice chair of the Health Services committee and holds memberships on several other committees, including Agriculture and Appropriations & Revenue. Richardson is also the president of the Christian County Bar Association and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
