Daniel Johnson is a Scottish Labour and Co-operative politician who has served as the Member of the Scottish Parliament for Edinburgh Southern since 2016. Before entering politics, he worked as a management consultant and managed a group of independent retail shops. Throughout his parliamentary career, he has focused on workers' rights and education, notably sponsoring the Protection of Workers (Retail and Age-Restricted Goods and Services) (Scotland) Act and the Restraint and Seclusion (Prevention in Schools) (Scotland) Act, also known as Calum's Law. He has held various frontbench roles, including Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy, Tourism and Transport, and currently serves as the Convenor of the Economy and Fair Work Committee.
