David B. Hawk

David B. Hawk is an American politician serving as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives for the 5th district. First elected to the 103rd General Assembly, he has maintained his seat through the 113th General Assembly. Throughout his tenure, he has served on various committees, including Commerce, Conservation and Environment, and Small Business. In 2020, he made an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. House of Representatives in Tennessee's 1st Congressional District. His legislative career has been marked by support for gun rights, including voting for legislation to allow concealed weapons in establishments serving alcohol, and his participation in the 2023 expulsion votes regarding Democratic representatives. Outside of his political career, Hawk is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and previously worked as a haberdasher.
