David Batt

David John Batt is an Australian politician currently serving as the Member of the House of Representatives for the division of Hinkler, having been elected in 2025. Prior to his federal career, he served as a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly for Bundaberg from 2017 to 2020 and was a councillor for the Bundaberg Regional Council between 2008 and 2017. Before entering politics, Batt had a long career in law enforcement, serving as a police officer in the Queensland Police Service for over two decades, where he reached the rank of detective sergeant. His political platform has focused on addressing cost of living pressures and housing affordability within his constituency.
