David Maaß is a German politician and a member of the Landtag of Saarland, representing the Social Democratic Party (SPD). He studied law in Saarbrücken and Mainz before pursuing a career in the police force, where he served as the Saarland state chairman of the Police Union (Gewerkschaft der Polizei) from 2018 to 2023. Since his election to the state parliament in 2022, he has focused on sports policy and the fight against right-wing extremism. In 2023, he was the SPD candidate for mayor in Schwalbach (Saar).
