A member of the Republican Party, he has represented Kentucky's 59th House district since 2005. Osborne previously served as the chamber's first Republican speaker pro tempore and assumed the role of acting speaker in 2018 before being elected to the position permanently. Outside of his legislative career, he is a real estate agent and operates a thoroughbred racing and breeding farm.
